THE INSTITUTION IS PLEASED TO PROMOTE A NEW SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED BY
THE THORNTON TOMASETTI FOUNDATION (TTF) AND INVITES OUR ACADEMIC
COMMUNITY TO SPREAD THE WORD!

  The £5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student about to enter the
final year of a Masters programme (MEng or equivalent), or start a
standalone Masters programme (MSc or equivalent), in any civil,
structural or architectural engineering course. Both full-time and
part-time students are eligible for the award. The award is based on a
candidate's career goals, academic accomplishment and demonstrated
interest in the integration of engineering and architecture.

  Each university can present one candidate for the scholarship, and
nominations must be made by the head of department overseeing the 
degree
programme.

KEY DATES:

      * Closing date for applications: 26 FEBRUARY 2016
      * The Thornton Tomasetti Foundation jury will meet in March 2016 to
consider applications
      * The successful candidate will be notified by the first week of 
April
2016

  SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

      * Nomination letter from the Head of Department
      * Copy of applicant's most current academic transcript and predicted
degree classification
      * Written submission from the candidate to tell the TTF jury about
themselves (for example, why they chose their degree, where they see
themselves in ten years' time, and how they believe they can make a
difference to their profession) and a 300 to 500 word essay describing
their interest in the integration of engineering and architecture
      * Submission to be made via email by 26 February 2016
