The Young Structural Engineers’ International Design Competition





The Young Structural Engineers’ International Design Competition (YSEIDC)
is held by The Institution of Structural Engineers Educational Trust every
three years to encourage ingenuity, imagination and inventiveness in young
engineers. Four cash prizes ranging from £1000 - £5000 are up for grabs,
so don’t delay and enter today!



This year the brief is to design transitional shelters, as employed in
disaster relief operations around the world. The need for new climate
appropriate designs is real and urgent, and it’s hoped that the Design
Competition can produce a valuable, practical design for development by
governments, NGOs and private donors.



Any structural engineer or civil/ structural engineering student under the
age of 30 is eligible to enter the Competition. Teams of up to three may
take part, but such teams must include at least one member of The
Institution of Structural Engineers.



The International Design Competition is a great opportunity for young
engineers to showcase their skills to our global membership, and more
importantly to make a valuable contribution to an increasingly important
area of engineering. We look forward to seeing the designs that the
profession’s best and brightest can create.
